In just about a week, Singapore will play host to the 28th SEA Games. I for one am excited to be able to catch our Team Singapore sportsmen in action right here in Singapore.

Reminiscing the past. The last time we had home ground advantage was in June 1993. That year, our nation came in 5th with 50 gold, 40 silver and 74 bronze medals. I for one am hopeful that we will surpass the 164 medals that we bagged some 22 years ago.

My passion and interest lies in water sports. From our swimmers to our sailors, nothing excites me more than watching our athletes in action in the water. My absolute favourite (and the place that you will see me daily from 11 – 14 June) will be waterskiing. This exciting sport features talented, toned and tanned sportsmen (and also good looking athletes) in action at Bedok Reservoir.

I managed to catch them practising when jogging around the beautiful reservoir in the afternoons that I am not in school. The skill that they possess is pure madness. If you are staying around the eastern part of Singapore, do make your way down to the Bedok Reservoir to catch this sport. The tricks that these athletes will be performing at break neck speed is truly and exciting sight.

Hope to see my fellow easterners and of course all Singaporeans supporting all our Team Singapore athletes in their respective sports. Here’s wishing them all the best and may lady luck shine her light on them. I am sure will be here our national anthem being over 50 times over the two week period.

Majulah Singapura!
