Water is the utmost importance for a healthy lifestyle in our daily life. Our body is highly dependent on water as it composes of 60% of water. Water determines the effective functioning of our body such as blood circulation, digestion and maintenance of body temperature.
Drinking water can significantly improve our ability to think and make us energetic. When we are low on fluids, our brain has the ability to trigger the body’s thirst mechanism.
However, water is usually the most neglected parts of our diet. We often substitute them with other “flavored” choices like juice or milk. Although these substitutes also contain high amounts of water, but bear it in mind, they come with high level of sugar as well.
Besides being a vital component of our body, drinking water has the following benefits such as it is cheap with no added ingredients, helps trim calorie intake by suppressing your appetite and help keep our skin look good as dehydration makes our skin look dry and wrinkled. Though drinking water leads to a healthier body which means a happier life, it has to be drunk in moderation. Drinking excessive amounts can lead to loss of sleep as we have to get up in the night to go to the toilet. It can also lead to serious health issues such as swelling of the brain due to a drop in our body’s salt levels.
Nonetheless, we need water if not after three days we will die of dehydration. So go pour yourself a large glass of water if you have not done so.
